Daniel Kram, a lifelong resident of West Orange, died on June 8th at his home. Born on his father’s poultry farm in Pleasantdale, West Orange, he had been a real estate broker and developer since 1948. After serving in Europe in World War II, he returned to Cornell University from which he was graduated.

His philanthropy extended beyond the Jewish community to environmental and cultural organizations including the National Parks, the Nature Conservancy and Carnegie Hall.
Mr. Kram’s interest in music extended from drumming in the Cornell Marching Band and the 88th Army Ground Force Band to the weekly Music Appreciation program he ran at the Daughters of Israel until his death. Mr. Kram’s passion for music was rivaled only by his love of traveling, all things Italian, and his family.
