My son, Andrew, was Dan's roommate freshman year. He was the first roommate that Andrew met and they remained so close, they chose to be suitemates sophomore year.  My family and I had always heard about Dan, as Andrew talked about him all the time. Even though not all of our family members had met him, it felt as though we all knew him well.  Andrew and Dan always had late night chats and formed a wonderful bond and friendship. We are grateful that he was a part of Andrew's life.  Dan will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever.

The Mark Family

Dan and my son Hunter met on their first day at Marist and instantly made a connection.  Since then, Hunter has always referred to Dan as his first college friend.  He was drawn to Dan not only by the things they had in common but also by his friendliness, genuineness, kindness, and sense of fun and good humor.  Hunter especially loved the times they shared inside jokes and could make each other laugh.  I had the pleasure of meeting Dan this semester when they moved into the same townhouse.  I was impressed by the ease and openness with which he chatted with me and remember thinking what a sweet, mature and introspective young man he was.  We are all so grateful that Dan was and forever will be a part of Hunter's life.  We send his family all our love.

The Guinn Family

Dan was a wonderful young man and a beautiful soul. He and my son Nicholas were roommates at Marist College but I can truly say they were brothers. There were so many great times they shared just being "college kids" and all of the many friendships formed with that great group of kids. From their late nights in Marian Hall freshman year to their antics in Lower West Cedar, there were so many memories and I feel honored to have watched them grow. They all loved being together so much that they spent the summer continuing on with making memories. 
We will all miss Dan deeply and I know that he will be forever in our hearts.  We are all changed from this however we will all be connected because of this. Dan will never be forgotten. To have known him was a privilege. Our hearts are with his family and all who have been touched by Dan's life.  

My son Connor was a suitemate of Dan’s at Marist. They met last year and made an instant connection.   They shared their love of the Yankees.  They enjoyed talking about sports so much together that they started their own “Dan & Connor sports radio” segment for Marist Radio.  Connor will forever be a better person having had Dan as a friend.  Dan was so pleasant, kind and helpful (always wanting to help with any bags that I was bringing into or out of the dorm).  Such a wonderful young man. Your family will be in our continued prayers and Dan will always be remembered. We are so grateful to have had Dan in Connor’s life.

Shapiro Family,
Dan was my great-nephew Nick's roommate this year at Marist.  Dan and I would always share our thoughts regarding the New York Rangers and the Yankees.  A great kid and I will truly miss him and always giving him a hug when I saw him.   Rest in peace Dan.

        I am Maddy Abood, a senior at Union Catholic. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to play on the UC golf team with Dan my freshman and sophomore years. 
       I will never forget the day I first met Dan. I instantly felt a connection. His kind demeanor and warm personality shed through our conversations; Dan possessed a truly beautiful soul.

I was Dan’s teacher at Union Catholic. I have never come across a better kid. He was amazing in so many ways. Dan was smart, hard working, mature and driven to succeed. He came to school every day striving to do his very best. Dan was humble, kind, caring and respectful. I feel really blessed to have been his teacher. He was a wonderful young man. My prayers are with his parents, family and friends and will continue to be.
