Dennis Scott Bobker

Dennis was born on June 25, 1946, in Newark, New Jersey, and was raised in West Orange. He attended the University of Bridgeport, but one of the most important chapters of his life began years earlier, when he met Tina Wagman as a teenager. They began dating at just 16 years old and were married in 1968, beginning a marriage that would span 58 years and a life together of more than six decades.

Above all else, Dennis was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband to Tina, a dedicated father to his sons, Adam and Corey, and an adoring grandfather to Sam, Maddy, Charley and Ruby. He was also a beloved brother, uncle and friend. Dennis was warm and affectionate, outgoing and social, loyal and extraordinarily generous. He had a natural ability to connect with people and make them feel welcomed, valued and cared for.

Dennis’s greatest legacy was his devotion as a father. He believed that being present mattered, and he lived that belief every day. When his sons were young, Dennis coached their Little League baseball teams beginning with T-ball. His love of coaching continued even after his own children had moved on from the game. His commitment to youth baseball extended beyond the field, as he served on the board of Livingston National Little League.

That same devotion carried into the next generation. Dennis loved watching his grandchildren grow and took tremendous pride in their lives and accomplishments. Whether it was a game, event or milestone, he made every effort to be there. Simply showing up for the people he loved was one of the clearest ways Dennis expressed how much they meant to him.

Professionally, Dennis spent most of his career as President and CEO of Bobker Bearings. He built the company with a strong sense of loyalty and care for the people who worked alongside him, forming relationships rooted in compassion, respect and trust. He was highly regarded within his industry and served as President of the Bearing Specialists Association. Later in his career, Dennis brought his experience and leadership to turnaround management consulting with Phoenix Management.

Alongside his professional life, Dennis was deeply committed to the organizations and communities that mattered to him. He served for many years on the Board of Crestmont Country Club and also served as its President. Whether in business, youth sports, his community or among friends, Dennis had a natural instinct to get involved, contribute and lead.

Outside of work and service, Dennis enjoyed skiing, golf, and cheering on his beloved New York Giants and New York Yankees. But more than any team or pastime, what he valued most was sharing those experiences with the people he loved.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Tina Wagman Bobker; his sons, Adam Bobker and Corey Bobker and Corey’s wife, Irina; his grandchildren, Sam, Maddy, Charley and Ruby; his sisters, Barbara and her husband, Barry, and Geri and her husband, Dennis; and his extended family and many dear friends.

He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity and loyalty, for the friendships he nurtured, and especially for the example he set as a husband, father and grandfather. His greatest gift to his family was not only how deeply he loved them, but how consistently he showed that love through his presence. He leaves his sons and grandchildren a lasting blueprint for what it means to be a devoted father and family man.

Funeral services will be held at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039, on Friday, August 14, 2026 at 11am. The family will be receiving guests from 10:15 am to 10:45 am. The burial will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 189 Gill Ln, Woodbridge Township, NJ 08830. Shiva will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, at Eppes Essen in Livingston, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dennis’s memory to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, supporting research for new and improved treatments for pediatric cancer.
