Born and raised in Newark, she lived most of her life in Bloomfield.
Dotti worked for many years at the Board of Public Utilities retiring in December 2014. Prior to this she worked as a real estate paralegal, legal secretary and office manager at numerous law firms.
Dotti lived life to the fullest and was never one to stay home. She loved to travel and go to Broadway shows with her friend Susan. There was never a week that went by that Dotti did not “shop” – whether for herself, her daughter, her granddaughter or her friend Rosalie. She loved to read, go to the movies and go out to lunch with family members Lucille, Chris, and Phyllis, just to name a few. She enjoyed photography as a hobby and for several years was a member of the Essex Photo Club. Most of all Dotti loved spending time in Sea Bright every summer with her husband Ralph.
She was the beloved wife of Ralph J. Salerno, loving mother of Heather Angelo and her husband David Valle, dear sister and sister-in-law of Patricia Alefeld and her husband Walter, and cherished grandmother of Francesca Valle.
Visitation is being held at the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston, on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
Services will commence at the funeral home on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 10 am followed by Religious Services at The First Presbyterian Church of Caldwell at 11 am. Cremation will be private.
Dotti’s family would like to thank and acknowledge the doctors and nurses at both Memorial Sloan Kettering and Summit Medical Group that helped her fight her battle against colon cancer. In lieu of flowers, kindly make contributions to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center at Fredsteam.org/Team Nash.
