A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 13, at 1 p.m. at the Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Rd, Livingston, NJ. Edie, daughter of the late Jack and Mary Tabatchnick and sister of the late Herb Taber, was born in Newark, N.J. She lived in Livingston for 60 years, where she was a devoted wife to her late husband Morty for 54 years. She was the loving mother to Jodi Brandt, Cindi (Fred) Levin, and Abby Morgan; the proud grandmother of Jami Levin, Carly (Eric) Heiman, Morgan Brandt, and Brandt, Jake and Brody Morgan; and finally, the great grandmother to Jackson Heiman.
Beyond her special bond with Morty and closeness with her daughters and grandchildren, throughout her life, she had a special magnetism, fun energy and warmth that drew so many people to her. Everyone loved being with Edie – her whole family who adored her, her childhood friends who evolved into life-long sisters; her new friends; and simply the people she met as she went about her day-to-day life. Edie will be sorely missed by all.
