
Predeceased by her late husband, Martin Yazersky, Edna (Levitt) Yazersky is survived by her two children, a daughter Gail Yazersky and her (grand)daughter, Raechel Ritzer; and a son, Benjamin Yazersky, sister-in-law Mildred Yazersky, ten nieces and nephews – Lawrence Levitt, David Levitt, Frances Heller, Kenneth Levitt, Barry Levitt, Ellen Frankel, Judy Moshel, Shimon Yazersky, Ira Cohen and Shalom Cohen and their spouses, a first cousin Stanley Levitt, a host of other 1st, 2nd and other cousins, a great many great nieces and nephews, and their children.
Born in Newark, Edna was raised in Pine Brook, NJ and later moved to Caldwell, and then West Orange NJ. She graduated Caldwell High School and attended Upsala College. A bookkeeper, she married Martin Yazersky of New York City in 1953, and they raised their children in Caldwell. She was active in community service with organizations including Hadassah, where she was a Life Member, and B'nai Brith, where she served as a Treasurer of her chapter, Together on Tuesday, and others. Hobbies included tatting, knitting, entertaining, cooking, and seeing live theater. In later years she enjoyed reading, playing Mah Jong and board games. She enjoyed the arts and traveling, especially to visit family.
A graveside service for Edna was held Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 5:00 PM at Pine Brook Jewish Cemetery, Windsor Drive, Pine Brook, NJ 07058.
