Edward (Eddie) Gottlieb, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Compassionate Care Unit of St. Clare’s Hospital after a brave battle with cancer. Eddie was born and raised in northern New Jersey, but for the past twenty years he lived in Boca Raton, Florida with his wife of almost 40 years, Ellen. Only during this past month did the two return to New Jersey to be closer to family.
Eddie was an avid sports fan and Jewish deli aficionado. He enjoyed exercising, playing poker, and telling jokes, especially the ones he created himself. Though Eddie had many good friends, his family was his pride and joy. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his four children: Lauren (Jimmy), Allison (Jim), Todd, and Tracy (Noah) as well as eight grandchildren: Amanda, Justin, Samantha, Olivia, Jacob, Eli, Frances, and Simon.
Eddie was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
