Elizabeth “Betty” Cocco (nee Nahornick), passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the age of 90.

Born and raised in Windber, Pa., Elizabeth moved to Glen Ridge in 1955 with her husband Nicholas. They would eventually move to Toms River and 6 years ago she moved to North Caldwell to be with her family years after her husband’s passing.

She worked 30 years as a buyer of children’s clothing for Liptons, JM Towne, and Sealfon’s. Before retiring many years ago she spent 10 years in sales for Devries Garden Center in No. Brunswick.

Elizabeth was a member of the Red Hats Society but her passion in life, besides her family, was playing cards, cooking, baking, and above all entertaining.

She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas J. Cocco, parents Andrew and Mary Nahornick and 9 siblings.

She is survived by her children Jeffrey and wife Christine Cocco, Sharon and husband Richard Atieh, and James Cocco, her granddaughter Jessica and husband Kyle Perez, and a great granddaughter Evelyn Perez.

Visitation will be on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, from 4-8 pm at the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 am on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 in St. Anthony’s Church in Belleville.

In lieu of flowers and donations, the family requests that you keep Betty in your hearts and hold close the memories shared with her throughout your lives.

Aunt Betty and Uncle Nick are the BEST! We will always cherish the wonderful memories from Thanksgiving’s spent together, and other visits made over the years. Glad to know that these two beautiful individuals have been reunited and are dancing together in heaven. All our love to each of you Sharon, Jeff, Jimmy and families.
