Loving husband, family, and friend, Eli passed away at home on July 16, 2024, at the age of 78 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Beloved husband of the late Ruth Lifschitz Peleg and loving brother to Pnina Oron, Eli was an excellent woodcarver, who would work for hours trying to capture the beauty of the wild horses he loved so much.
Born in Haifa, Israel, Eli had fond memories of his time on the submarines in the Israeli navy. He later married and moved to Canada, finally settling in West Orange NJ, and working as a mechanic and then locksmith at the VA Hospital in East Orange.
Eli loved his wife Ruth and his children with all of his heart. He will be missed by many family and friends. May he rest in peace.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Sunday, July 21 at the Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Funeral Home in Livingston, NJ followed by a burial at Beth David Cemetery in Kenilworth. Shiva will be held immediately thereafter.
