Eric M. Perlmutter

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Judy; his daughters and son-in-laws: Lisa (Ken) and Lori (John); 5 grandchildren: Sammi, Ryan, Emma, Lily and Nick; as well as numerous relatives, business associates and friends.

Eric grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey. He played football and lacrosse for Columbia High School and graduated summa cum laude from Colgate University where he also played college football. He went on to earn a law degree from Seton Hall University and practice privately for a few years before joining, and ultimately running, the family business which grew to be Allied Beverage. With Eric’s vision and leadership, Allied Beverage Group has grown to be NJ’s largest and most comprehensive wine and spirits distributor and ranks among the ten largest such distributors in the United States.

He raised his family in Livingston before moving to West Orange for 28 years and ultimately residing in Verona. He was a long time member of Crestmont Country Club where he was an avid golfer and active member on the club board, including serving as club president. Eric was a devout Giants fan but what he loved cheering for most was his grandchildren, in whatever sport they played.

He was hard-working, honest, kind and had the most striking blue eyes. He never gave up and lived his life to the fullest until the very end. It will be hard to forget someone who gave us all so much to remember. We will always carry his memory in our hearts.

Funeral services will be held at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, located at 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ, 07039 on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 11am. The family will be receiving guests from 10:15am-10:45am. The service will also be available via live stream at the following URL: https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/117453.

The burial will be private followed by a private shiva.
