In May 2018, I asked my dearest friends Evan and Risa if they could take my mother to physical therapy while I was away. Of course, in her typical selfless way, Risa agreed.

Evan always liked my mother, but while I was away, the bond grew. After physical therapy, it was off to lunch or ice cream, where my mother shared stories that even I had never heard before.

When I returned, my mother beamed about what a gentleman Evan was, holding her arm up and helping her up the stairs, kissing her goodbye on the cheek.  For a moment, I saw my young mom with the smile that lit up the room. I can never thank Evan enough for that.

My mom passed away in October 2018. Of course I called Risa that night, and the next day, she said that Evan sobbed when he heard the news. Of course I sobbed that day too.

Godspeed, Evan. I hope that you are having ice cream in heaven with my mom. She loves you so, as do we.  You are in my heart forever.



Pete and I have so many happy memories with Risa and Evan with the Cohen's for 20+ years. It was always clear that Risa was the light in Evan's eyes and Alexa and Ross were the joys of his life. Silly and fun, kind and loving, endlessly grateful for his magnificent wife and children--a beautiful spirit who will be missed by all who knew him. Sending much love and support to Risa, Alexa, and Ross.

I worked with Evan at PVH many years ago. He knew so much about real estate in the US and abroad.  A very impressive man.  Janice Davidson

I shall always have fond memories of Evan. I remember the kindness and respect he always showed to me whenever I saw him. I liked his philosophical way of looking at life such as moving on from things that couldn’t be changed. I am blessed to have known him for 22 years and saddened that the world has lost such a great man. All of my thoughts and prayers are with his whole family at this time.

Evan, now you will be at rest with your dear parents Shirley and Murray.  You will be dearly missed by all of your  family and friends.

I met Evan in 1977 while we lived in Noyes at Vassar and then lived with Evan for a year with 2 other room mates in TA 21 our senior year.  We also attended Cardozo together.  He was great guy and good friend.  I will miss you "big guy".
