Sr. Fortunata "Florence" Raniero

Services will be conducted from the LaMonica Memorial Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave. Livingston on Thursday, April 11, at 8:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Xavier Church in Newark at 10 am. Interment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10 from 2-8 pm.

Sr. Fortunata worked many years at Carteret Savings Bank until her retirement. She was a Redemptoristine Nun of NY for 39 years and was a member of the St. Gerard Ladies Guild in Newark. She volunteered at the Food Bank in Hillside and was always helping family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Josephine (nee DiMaio) and Alfred Raniero, and her brother Salvatore and his wife Connie Raniero.

She is survived by her nephews, Alfred & Shelli Raniero, and Salvatore & Margaret Raniero; nieces Joanne & Victor Jacobia and Bernadette & Joseph Scillieri; and godson Rev. Steven D’Andrea. She was also survived by 11 grandnieces and nephews and 3 great grand nieces.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Most Sacred Heart of Jesus School, 6 Bond St., Wallington, NJ 07057 would be appreciated.
