
Frank A. Schlesinger passed away on September 10, 2017. Son of Alexander and Hannah Schlesinger, Frank was born in Newark, New Jersey on April 22, 1922. He graduated from Beverly Hills High School and attended various colleges, including the University of Wisconsin and University of California, Davis.
Frank Schlesinger’s great joy in life was the love he had for his family: his wife, Margot, his children, Liz, Lynn and Richard, and his grandchildren, Hayley, Alex, Andrew, Dean, and Tyler.
Frank fought in World War II with the 69th Infantry Division in the European Theater of Operations and was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic achievements in combat.
In 1946 he joined Louis Schlesinger Co., a real estate firm established by his grandfather in 1890, and eventually established his own business, Frank Schlesinger and Co.
Frank served as a board member for the Boys Club of Newark and was active in many other organizations, including the American Red Cross, Beth Israel Hospital, and the Jewish Community Center. He also worked with the American Institute of Appraisal and the Newark Society of Industrial Realtors – serving both as an officer in the local and national chapters.
Frank was a member of Mountain Ridge Country Club and the PGA National Golf Club.
