Frederick Zucker, 82, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. Fred is survived by his wife, Roberta; daughter Jodi, her husband Barry, and their daughter Allison; and his son Scott, his wife Marjie, and their children Sammy, Max and Lily. Fred was predeceased by his parents’ Morris and Etta, and his twin brother Robert.
Fred was born on November 23, 1937 in Bronx, New York. He received a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s Degree in Business from The City College of New York. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country for four years as a Basic Airman and then a reserve assignment as an Aeromedical Specialist. Chemistry was always his career focus and he taught chemistry at the college level. He started his own chemical company called Tridom Chemical, which later became the North American division of Fluka Chemical.
Fred loved his wife of 58 years and his family, especially his children and grandchildren, always remarking on the pride he felt for the family's accomplishments. Fred was an avid sports fan and collector of stamps, coins and baseball cards. Fred and Roberta enjoyed learning about different cultures through traveling the world together. Those who truly knew him will remember his wealth of knowledge, generosity, caring spirit, and sense of humor.
