Gerald D. Allen, age 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, at his home in Maplewood, NJ. He was born on September 4, 1931 in Jersey City, New Jersey to George and Anne Abramow. Jerry graduated with a BS from NYU, a JD from Brooklyn Law School and a fake medical degree after years of internet research. Jerry ran a successful oil and gasoline distribution business and moonlighted as a real estate investor. He lived in NJ, Colorado, Arizona, and Florida before returning to NJ this past fall. Jerry truly lived life to the fullest through his passion for travel, cheating at golf, professional ice cream taster and, most of all, spending time with friends and family. Jerry filled whatever room he was in with his presence and had an uncanny ability to add laughs to any occasion with his terrible jokes. Jerry is survived by the love of his life, his wife Eleanor, his four children and two daughters-in-law, Eric, Melissa, Keith, Julie, Nancy and Gail, his five grandchildren, Zach, Jessica, Sophie, Natalie and Ross, and his sister, Phyllis. Donations in his honor can be made to The American Heart Association.
