Beloved wife, loving mother and proud and playful grandmother, Gloria Lynn Davis
passed away at the age of 78 from COVID-19 on April 2, 2020 surrounded by her
family virtually. Gloria was formerly of West Windsor, New Jersey and Manhattan,
New York.
Gloria was born on February 13, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York to Morris and Fannie.
She graduated from Erasmus High School where she was classmates with Barbra
Streisand and her lifelong friend Adrienne whom she considered the sister she never
had. Gloria graduated cum laude from Brooklyn College earning a Bachelor of Arts
degree in English and Education and pursued a Master’s Degree in Education
Management from Rutgers University.
She married the love of her life, Gerald Davis on June 30, 1962 and they enjoyed 58
years of marital bliss together. Gloria and Jerry raised their three children in Syosset,
NY, Woodbury, NY and East Brunswick, NJ.
While balancing the demands of raising a family, Gloria had a long and distinguished
business career in sales, marketing and management for various companies including
Deco Plants, Katherine Gibbs School, R.R. Bowker and Stanley H. Kaplan Education
Center.
Gloria had the gift of gab and her smile and good cheer would light up a room. Gloria
was an avid reader who relished to travel and see the world. She enjoyed swimming
and attending Broadway shows. But most of all, Gloria loved to spend time with her
family and friends who loved her dearly.
Gloria was survived by her husband, Gerald and their three children. She was the
adored Grandma “Bubbles” to eight amazing grandchildren.
Gloria was predeceased by her parents, Morris and Fannie.
A well-attended Zoom Funeral Service was held Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Union,
New Jersey.
The family has designated the National Kidney Foundation for memorial
contributions.
