Irwin Rappaport

Irwin was born and raised in Philadelphia PA. In his teens he worked as a “soda jerk” behind the counter at his family’s luncheonette. He then joined the Coast Guard and served on the great ship USCGC Tamaroa, Upon his discharge he settled down in NYC, and was blessed with his two children, Jeffrey and Lisa. Irwin retired in 1988, as the Vice President of Sales after a long and successful career with Goddess in NYC. In 1981, Irwin married the love of his life, Thelma Kreitzman, and moved to Cranford NJ where they enjoyed traveling the world, their home on Long Beach Island and the many wonderful friends that surrounded them. He was an active member of Temple Beth-El Mekor Chayim, and served as VP of the Mens Club for many years.

He is survived by his wife Thelma, children Jeffrey and Lisa, and his stepchildren Ted and Linda. Also, his sister Barbara, and his beloved grandchildren Jaclyn, Scott, Jessica, Jason, Michael, Sam, and Eliza; and great granddaughters Colette and Esther.
