Jane Burke

Jane Keller Burke, 76, of Convent Station, formerly of Short Hills, NJ passed away on Friday, Oct. 28, 2015. A graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor Degree in Education, she taught briefly in New York and then at the Newark Academy.

Mrs. Burke was a long time member of Temple B’nai Jeshurun. She was a Lion of Judah for UJC Metro West and a member of the Mountain Ridge Country Club. She was involved in many philanthropic organizations as well as a volunteer at St. Barnabas Medical Center for many years. In her leisure she loved travel, opera and theater.

Mrs. Burke was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Jordan David Burke and then the late Stuart Franklin Cooper; loving mother of Robert Wayne Burke (Andrea) of Morristown and Ainsley Keller Burke (Richard Metter) of New York, NY; devoted grandmother of Alexandra, Daniel, Jonathan and Keir.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2015 at Cong. B’Nai Jeshurun, 1025 S. Orange Ave., Short Hills, NJ 07078. Shiva will be observed at Mrs. Burke's home on Sunday, 5-7pm, Monday and Tuesday, 2-4pm & 7-9pm.
