Born on April 16, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY, Jeff was the son of Maxwell Robert and Estelle Robinson and graduated from his beloved Johns Hopkins University in 1962.
Jeff worked as an actuary and had his own successful actuarial consulting business, Life Insurance Financial Essentials (L.I.F.E.), for over 50 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved swimming, exercising, camping, skiing, sailing, kayaking, and most of all lacrosse. Though he carried a tough exterior, Jeff was also very caring and sensitive, with a sharp wit and wonderfully sarcastic, dry sense of humor that will be sorely missed.
He was an extremely devoted husband to his lifelong love, Ellen, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage, and a loving Dad and Poppa to his daughters, Pamela and Stefanie, his five grandchildren—Jake and his fiancée Averi, Isabel, Cade, Mack, and Jesse—and his sons-in-law, Louis and Paul. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce.
He will be deeply missed, but we will keep his favorite sentiment forever in our hearts as we try to move forward, “it is not how hard you fall, but how well you recover”, to honor what we know he would want for everyone he loved and that loved him!
A funeral service for Jeffrey will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at 11am at Bernheim-Apter-Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039. The family will be receiving guests from 10:15am to 10:45am. The burial will follow at the Pine Brook Jewish Cemetery, 77 Windsor Dr, Montville, NJ 07058.
Donations can be made in Jeffrey's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Hopkins Lacrosse or the Bronx Lacrosse.
