Jeffrey H. Spector

Jeffrey H. Spector, 78, West Orange, New Jersey passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024.

Predeceased by his father Milton Spector and his mother Pearl Spector, Jeff is survived by his wife of 54 years and true love, Doris Spector, his daughter Breena Fishback (Jed) and son Josh Spector, his siblings, Esther Amsterdam, Robert Spector and Ron Spector. As well as his 3 grandchildren, Jillian, Jordan and Jack and a slew of friends.

Jeff was born in Newark, NJ and grew up on Air Force Bases around the country and oversees. He began his career as a special ed teacher, later becoming a school psychologist and after graduating from Rutgers with a Psy.D began a thriving private practice in Livingston, NJ.

Jeff was especially proud of his work with people with AIDS in the early days of the disease and worked tirelessly with the CDC to inform and educate students and school systems in Newark and around the country.

In his private psychology practice Jeff was especially talented in running social skills groups for children and adolescents.

He was a proud member of TSTI in South Orange for over 50 years who contributed in a myriad of ways to his community over his many years.

A memorial service for Jeffrey will be held Monday, March 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel, 432 Scotland Road, South Orange, New Jersey 07079.
