John W. Miele

John (or "JR" as he was affectionately known ) grew up in Newark and was the youngest of four siblings. After high school he proudly served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. After his military service, John studied clothing design at the Traphagen School of Fashion in NYC. He was a successful business owner of Spindletop Apparel in Passaic. He was a kind, generous, loving mentor and friend to many, always willing to lend a helping hand. John enjoyed watching the Yankees, taking walks and he was adored by his grandchildren.

John is predeceased by his siblings, William "Bill" Miele, Joseph "Corky" Miele and Marie Wilgus. He is survived by his wife Alyce McCarthy Miele, his children Christopher (Melissa Antonucci Miele) and Marion, his grandchildren Jacqueline and Harlow, niece Ada Buono and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 4-9pm at LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mount Pleasant Ave, Livingston, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 359 Central Ave., North Caldwell, NJ on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 10am.
