

Joseph Paul Chnapko, Sr. 95, of Livingston, NJ passed away peacefully Monday, March 6, 2017. Born in Newark, NJ he lived in Essex Fells prior to moving to Livingston. Joseph was an Army Veteran of World War II. He received the Bronze Star while serving with the 101st Airborne Division during the invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He was the Founder and Owner of Globe Motor Car Company in Fairfield, NJ for 50 years.
Mr. Chnapko was an avid Standard Breed horse owner and loved the track. He also enjoyed his winters in Boca Raton, FL.
The son of Joseph and Katherine Chnapko, Joseph was predeceased by his wife Yaffa Chnapko. Surviving are his children Linda Cummings and her husband Matt, Kathleen Gentile and her husband Arnold, Michelle Cox and her husband Adam, Joseph Paul Chnapko, Jr. and his wife Melissa, and David Goodfriend and his wife Harley, and by his grandchildren Matthew, Cody, Connor, Michael, Nicole, Joe, Joey, Yaffa, Sarah, Jacob, Asher, and Declan.
A funeral service will be held Thursday 12:00PM at the Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ. Entombment will be in Cedar Park Cemetery in the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah, Paramus, NJ.
