I’m so sorry to learn of Leo’s passing. I remember him fondly from when I was growing up in Millburn. While I was friendly with the whole family, I tend to picture Leo playing pinochle in our kitchen with my dad (Bob), Stan, and Marvin (and then Jerry) back in the 1970’s. I’ll always remember Leo as a kind man with a ready smile. Sending my best wishes to Barbara, Stuart and Alex.

I dont have a specific memory to share about Leo, because he was consistently so warm and caring. It was always very welcome news to learn Barb and Leo were visiting Sacramento as it meant family gatherings and special celebrations.
Leo always made us feel as if we were family. He was the best grandpa and always made my kids feel as loved and cared for as he did for Nicole and Aileen.  He will be missed.

Words cannot expressed how sad I was when I heard of Leo's passing (Mr. Leo) as I fondly called him.  I will cherish our many talks over the years and your wisdom and guidance to me.  Leo, May Your Soul Rest in Peace and I will always have a Special Place in My Heart for You.  Ms. Barbara, May You find the Strength, Peace and Love during this difficult time with your Family and Love Ones.

Right now I do not have the words, but here is a memory. This is a favorite photo of mine of Grandma and Grandpa at my high school graduation in 2019. My Grandpa was always steadfast in his determination to see his children and grandchildren succeed in everything they set out to do. I am forever grateful for his unwavering support and most importantly, love. I love you Grandpa♥️

We were so sad to hear of Leo’s passing. He was a wonderful man who gave of himself to his family and all he interacted with.

The Sender family was like a second family for me first when they lived on Parkview Drive in Millburn and then when they moved to Short Hills. Leo and Barbara were involved with progressive causes like George McGovern’s presidential campaign and it was run out of their home in Millburn where we kids put on buttons and canvassed the neighborhood. Leo was always hard at work in his businesses, but never too busy to be involved with Stuart, Laura and Alex‘s activities. When I began producing theater in college, Leo and Barbara were financial and creative supporters then later when my band The Sippy Cups was invited to perform at South Orange  Performing Arts Center, I discovered that Leo and Barbara were pulling strings behind the scenes (of course that got them backstage passes.. :-). The last time I saw them was at the funeral for dearest Laura too recently. Leo was a real mensch and will be greatly missed.

Rest in peace Great Uncle Leo.
Your warm and welcoming presence, intelligence, and humor will always be remembered.
