Lillian Offin-Berger, 96, died at home on Sunday, April 2, 2017. Born and a lifelong resident of Brooklyn, NY, Lillian worked for NY Life Insurance Co. for over 30 years. She was married to the late Gerry Gersten and then to the late Benjamin Offin for 30 years before he passed away in 1983. She then enjoyed 27 years of marriage to Leon Berger who passed away in 2013. She was the loving mother of Sheldon Gersten (Linda) and Bruce Offin (Terri), devoted grandmother of Brian Offin (Ashley Kende), Dr. Michael Offin (Priya) and Carly Offin, cherished sister of Michelle Berkowitz (the late Phil), and the late Helen Sharp and the late Stanley Cooperman. Devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Sheila Berger (wife of the late Philip) and her children Sarah and Matthew, Arlene Kishlansky (Mitchell) and their children Michelle and Melissa, and Kenneth Berger (Debbie) and his daughter Amy. She especially appreciated the care given to her by her aide Diedra. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday at New Montefiore Cemetery, West Babylon, NY. Donations may be made in her name to the America Cancer Society.
