Linda Herman Ross

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Herman Ross, an extraordinary mother, grandmother, and friend. Linda, age 71, passed on July 4, 2018.

While her most cherished roles were as a mother and grandmother, she also took great joy in spending time with her friends, including her customers at Just A Dream, supporting charitable causes, and traveling with her family.

Linda, a woman with an enormous heart and passion for life, is survived by her children, Jennifer Ross, and David and Deborah Ross; and her grandchildren, Bennett and Carter Ross. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Barry Ross; her parents, Joseph and Carol Herman; her sisters, Sandy and Brenda Herman; and her brother David Herman.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. (www.wish.org) or to the Comfort Project 360 at Saint Barnabas (https://www.rwjbh.org/saint-barnabas-medical-center/giving/comfort-project-360/), two causes that Linda cared deeply about.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 5, at Temple B’Nai Abraham in Livingston.

I met Linda years ago where she was working in a small children's store, not Just A Dream, before she became the owner of her own store. I purchased a rocking chair from her and she said she could no longer get them and this was the last one she had. I then began a hunt which she had no idea about.

A few weeks later I stopped in and gave her a list of rocking chair suppliers. That was our beginning and it never ended. I cannot tell you how many rocking chairs I have purchased at Just A Dream and the last one I ordered is ready to be picked up. Even as tired as she was she helped me order that chair. So it was her first and last chair I purchased from my most wonderful friend.

I cry as I type this...and as much as Linda loved hearts and many I gave her as gifts my dearest friend will remain in my heart forever. She cannot be replaced nor should she because it cannot happen.

Her family means just as much to me and I hope we will always stay in touch. I know my dear friend Linda would want that to happen.

Linda began as a customer in 1998 & over the years, became a dear, dear friend. I have never met a kinder, more generous, loving, or thoughtful soul. I will miss her terribly.
