Born in Newark, NJ. Mrs. Grossman attended Hawthorne Avenue School, Maple Avenue School, and the Pequannock Annex in Newark. She graduated from Hillside High School, Ohio University with a B.S. degree, and Seton Hall University with an M.A. degree. Mrs. Grossman taught in Hillside, Orange, and West Orange for a total of 38 years. She lived in West Orange for 51 years before moving to the Atlanta area 11 years ago.
Mrs. Grossman leaves two beloved children and their spouses, a son, Lawrence Grossman, and a daughter, Linda Selman. She also leaves a sister, Marlene Baron, a daughter‑in‑law, Mary, a son-in-law, David and five beloved grandchildren, Alexandra, Zachary, Joshua, Jennifer, and Anthony. Mrs. Grossman was the wife of the late Irving Grossman.
Mrs. Grossman was a Past Grand District Deputy, Order of the Golden Chain, Newark Link.
She was a member of: B’nai Brith Girls, B’nai Brith Women, Girl Scouts of America, Brownie Leader, National Jewish Hospital, Deborah Hospital, Jewish Women International, B’nai Shalom Jewish Center, B’nai Shalom Sisterhood, Hadassah, Together on Tuesday, Congregation AABJ&D, NJ Education Association, National Education Association, West Orange Education Association, West Orange Parent Teachers Association. She was also a volunteer at Daughters of Israel in West Orange.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at 11am at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039. The family will be receiving guests from 10:15am-10:45am. The burial will follow at New Mt. Zion Cemetery , 153 Orient Way, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071.
