Born and raised in Newark by her late parents Joseph and Susie Quaresimo, Marie lived in West Orange before moving to Toms River in 1997.
She was devoted to St. Gerard and was a member of the St. Gerard Ladies Guild. She was a very strong woman who dedicated her life to not only St. Gerard but to her entire family. Marie loved baking and cooking and Christmas was a favorite of hers.
A breast cancer survivor, it was this pandemic that took her down. Marie worked part time at Stern's in West Orange but being a wife to her husband, Michael, raising her two daughters, Susan and Michele, and spending time with her two grandchildren was her legacy.
She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Specchio, loving mother of Susan Specchio and Michele DeZao and husband Frederick, dear sister of Ann Platt and husband Abraham, and the late Madeline Cece and Anthony Quaresimo, and cherished grandmother of Brittany and Nicholas DeZao. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and her loving furry friends.
