

Marilyn “Mitzi” Kreinberg, of Livingston, NJ, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on Sept. 1, 2026 at the age of 99. She will be remembered for her intelligence, warmth, generosity, love of family, and lifelong curiosity about the world around her.
Born Jan. 1, 1927, to her parents David and Mae Kaplan. Marilyn was an exceptional student who graduated from high school at just 16 years old. She began her career as a legal secretary, bringing the same determination and capability that would characterize her throughout her long life.
In 1947, Marilyn married the love of her life, Samuel. Together they built a loving family and raised four children: Susan, Jane, Mitchell, and Lawrence. Samuel predeceased her in 2000. Marilyn was also predeceased by her three beloved sisters: Blanche, Harriet, and Audrey.
Marilyn was deeply committed to her Jewish community and was very involved in Hadassah. She and Samuel were founding members of Temple Beth Shalom, and generous supporters of charitable causes close to their hearts, particularly those benefiting Israel. Their philanthropy reflected their strong values and their desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Marilyn’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She leaves behind her four children and six grandchildren Joshua, David, Lindsay, Leah, Jason and Zoe, who will carry her memory forward and remember with love the remarkable woman she was. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family will be receiving guests on Sunday from 10:15AM to 10:45 AM at the Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
Burial will take place at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 189 Gill Lane , Iselin, NJ.
