It’s hard to put into words the depth of love and warmth that Grandma Marion brought into our lives. To me, she wasn’t just my husband’s grandmother. From the very first time I met her, she welcomed me like family. I’ll always remember her warm hugs, the way her arms wrapped around you like home, and how she greeted us so lovingly every time we visited New Jersey.

She had a special way of making everyone feel cherished. For Theo, she showered him with toys and laughter. Most tenderly, she knitted him a baby blanket by hand. Each stitch was woven with love, patience, and the kind of care only a great-grandma can give. That blanket will always tell the story of their bond, a connection that traveled across oceans and spanned generations.

One winter, during my first snowfall in New Jersey, she gave me a little solar-powered dancing snowman. “So you’ll always remember your first snow,” she said with a smile. I still have it. It’s more than a decoration. It’s a reminder of how thoughtful she was, how she noticed the small things that made life meaningful.

And then there are the brooches. She had a massive collection and gave me a few to keep. I still treasure them. Each one sparkles not just with beauty, but with her spirit. Elegant, timeless, and a little bit playful.

She was the sweetest soul. Endlessly generous, and the most vibrant 100-year-old I’ve ever met. Facebook savvy, quick-witted, and effortlessly stylish. She lived a century filled with wisdom and love, and she shared it freely with everyone lucky enough to know her.

Her legacy lives on in the gifts she gave, in the warmth she spread, and in the hearts she touched. We miss her deeply, but we carry her with us. In brooches, in baby blankets, in snowmen that dance, and most of all, in the memory of those ever-loving hugs.

Rest in peace, Grandma Marion. You were truly one of a kind.
