Born in New York City, Mark carried his New York roots with pride throughout his life. He attended New York University for his undergraduate studies and earned his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed his medical training at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Mark proudly served his country as a Captain in the United States Air Force, an experience that reflected his deep sense of duty and discipline and shaped the integrity with which he lived his life.
For 36 years, Dr. Levey practiced as an ear, nose, and throat specialist, caring for generations of patients. He was known not only for his clinical expertise but also for his calm demeanor, thoughtful listening, and genuine kindness.
Mark was the beloved husband of Julie, his partner in life and love for 63 wonderful years. Together they built a family that was the center of his world. He was a devoted father to James (wife Stephanie), Gordon, and Jonathan (wife Allison). Nothing brought him greater pride than being “Grandpa” to his seven cherished grandchildren: Matthew (fiancée Sarah), Eric, Grace, Brooke, Jenna, Mia, and Charlotte. He celebrated their achievements and supported their dreams.
Outside of medicine, Mark embraced life with energy and curiosity. He was an avid reader with a lifelong love of learning, a passionate traveler who delighted in exploring new places, a fitness enthusiast who valued discipline and health, and an enthusiastic golfer who cherished both the challenge of the game and the friendships it fostered.
Mark will be remembered for his integrity, warmth, quiet humor, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His greatest joy was his family, and his proudest accomplishment was the life he built with Julie and the values he instilled in his children and grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
