Marty stood to my right at the food prep table at Morse where we would plate the meals for "Meals on Wheels". Next to him stood his friend Mordy.  We all volunteered with Dolly running the show. It was many, many moons ago. I still can feel Marty standing next to me and making me feel like a dwarf. (I'm 5' short). We sat together having lunch before arriving at the kitchen  every Tuesday. Lots of laughter and stimulating conversation  during those years. I  think of Marty with love and sweet memories.  I know his beloved wife greeted him when he entered heaven. Dear, dear Marty was my mother's (Florence Polatnick) beloved 2-houses-down neighbor for the 27 years they both lived in Aberdeen Lakes in Boynton Beach. Especially after my father passed away 20 years ago, Marty became such an important part of my mother's life: a close and deeply caring friend, so helpful and generous, so cheerful and entertaining. He lifted my mother's spirits, and they greatly appreciated each other's warmth and wit. 
Living in CA, I was very grateful to Marty, and during my stays with my mother, he became my dear friend as well. As my mother declined in recent years, Marty was a terrific source of support for her and for me too. My mother passed away in May, and Marty has been so kind and helpful to me in the aftermath. I was shocked and saddened to learn of his passing and always will remember him with great fondness.

It is not difficult to express the feelings of deep sadness that I feel. Because my Uncle Marty, or Auntie Matilda as I jokingly called him, was far more than an uncle.  He had become my Buddy, one of my closest friends and confident. 
When I would call him, he would exclaim. "You made my day".  What a sweet man. 
We regularly spoke of family, sports and politics, and also exchanged poor humor and sarcasm. He had hoped and planned to visit me in San Diego which sadly never occurred. 
I had spoken to him earlier this week and as usual,  we planned to speak again before Shabbot.
Uncle Marty loved all of his family and was so proud of all his grandchildren. 
In my eyes, and my parents and brother Ian as well, he represented an image of a genuine Mensch.
Like most people, I not only liked the man, but I loved the man.  And already now, I sincerely miss him and he certainly will never be forgotten. 
My most sincere condolences to the entire family.

Marty and I played tennis together for many years.  We were doubles partners.  I ran the net and  Marty took the back court.  He could run like a gazelle, and we had a terrific partnership here at Aberdeen.

Marty also lived in my community , Lancaster Lakes at Aberdeen.  

Marty was a good guy and one of the originals, like me.  Our ranks are dwindling.  My sincerest condolences to the family.

I knew Marty since Jan 2013,he lived across the street from me. He was an amazing man!Always there to help. While my husband was very ill there was nothing he wouldn't do. His friendship was dear to me. Both my husband and I loved him and my daughter adored him. He will truly be missed by everyone....RIP my friend.
