Born in 1935 and raised in Newark, NJ he was a proud graduate of Weequahic High School and Carnegie Institute Of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon). He and his family established Lewmar Paper Company (later Central Lewmar Paper Company), one of the largest distributors of fine printing papers in the Northeast. He served as Vice Chairman until his retirement in 2005.
Marty was an active mentor of small businesses, volunteering many hours with the SCORE
Association. He was an avid sports fan passionate about NY/NJ football teams in their winning and losing seasons. He loved to play bridge, travel and visited almost all 50 states and all 7 continents with his beloved wife of 62 years, Barbara. But above all, he was a family man cherished by his adoring children Jamie Ostroff and Jon James, Bill and Marla Ostroff, Pam (Ostroff) and Marc Intrater, 9 grandchildren (Sam, Maria, Hannah, Sam, Zachary, Miles, Ethan, Jake, Izzy), his sister Marcia Brody, brother Les Bloomfield and many nieces and nephews.
