I also only knew Michael via the internet (and I never knew his name was Michael!). He was hilarious, and for many of us he was a big part of our day to day life online. I remember he used to love puns, and sometimes he'd have to explain them! Rest in peace, he was a great guy.

I will sincerely  miss talking with the man I now know as Michael.  I only knew him online,  due to a shared passion of baseball & our Mets bringing together a community of fans to chat baseball & a wide range of other topics.  
I want Michael’s family to know that he touched many many people that never met him personally- well over 100 of his online friends were truly saddened to hear of his passing & expressed how much he will be missed.  The person we all knew was a great, interesting, funny, unique, thoughtful, well respected man, and he made our whole online community better for being part of it.  There truly was nobody quite like him.

I never knew Michael by his true name. I knew him for several years by his handle on various sites devoted to the New York Mets. Michael was a very unique commenter. One of a kind. I always enjoyed his analysis of baseball and his penchant for posting videos of his favorite songs. You will be missed, Michael Block. May you watch from above over your family and your favorite team, the Amazin' Mets. To Michael's family - my condolences and prayers for you during this difficult time. He was a very well-respected person in our little community.

For the past few years I have spoken with Michael online almost daily. We spoke of baseball - he would offer hitting tips and encouragement for my grandson. We also spoke of music and politics and life in general. Although we never met in person, I considered him a friend.  I will miss him greatly. My sincere condolences to his family and other friends. 

I only met Michael through our internet discussions about our beloved New York Mets. We discussed baseball strategy, but also talked music and so much more. Though never having met Michael face-to-face, he greatly touched me and I will always consider him a friend.

Rest in Peace, Michael. I have only the fondest memories of our interactions. God bless you and your family.
