Michael Alan Cohen

Michael Cohen of Boynton Beach, FL (formerly of Somerset and Colonia, NJ) passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 . Born on August 13, 1937 in Jersey City, NJ. He was predeceased in death by his parents, Louis and Kitty, and his former wife, Elayne Cohen. He is survived by his wife Arlene Cohen; his children Scott (Margaret), Randy (Lori Roth) and Wendy Bassuk (David); his sister Susan Braunstein (Mickey); his step-children Jason Meade (Stephanie) and Meredith Norins (Andrew); his grandchildren Haley Cohen, Jake Cohen, Elayna Bassuk, Ethan Bassuk, Emily Tex (Timothy Brown), Joshua Tex (Danielle), Molly Rosberger, Hailey Norins, Jake Norins and Peyton Meade; and his great-grandchildren Eliza Brown and Theodore Brown; as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

He graduated from Rutgers University. He spent a number of years as an executive in the wholesale drug business and eventually owned and operated several successful health and beauty supply stores. He is a past president of Temple Beth Shalom of Colonia. He was an avid sports fan – Giants and Yankees, loved playing tennis and cards, and always enjoyed reading the newspaper cover to cover. Mostly he enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and celebrating life’s most important moments.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 6 in Woodbridge, NJ.
