I was reading my friends obituary again. I miss him so much & sometime read his obituary!!! As I was reading the Funeral homes website; I noticed Mr. Koenig’s obituary. I was shocked & could not believe Mr. Koenig passed away. Mr. Koenig was my Little League coach & was awesome! I will never forget my coaches. I had so many amazing coaches growing up & Mr Koenig was one of them. Those were different time’s & I appreciate everything they did for us!!! The coaches made huge sacrifices & commitments to coach all of us. As kids, we had no idea what they did for us. You eventually grow up & realize what they did… I wish, I could have told Mr. Koenig “Thank You!”

We were so sorry to see the article of Mike’s passing in the West Essex Tribune. We have very fond memories of all of you as Collins neighbors, Collins School activities, Cub Scouts Pack 59 and then meeting you several times at Bensi in Whippany after you moved. It was great catching up with you then talking about our kids as adults and reminiscing.

In addition to his sons, Uncle Mike was always encouraging to his nieces and nephews, and also to their children, asking about school, work and life, and applauding every success.  He was all about family, even extended family.  When we let our sons know Uncle Mike had passed, both Dan and Kevin remembered him fondly, even though they had only met a few times at large family gatherings.  We send our heartfelt condolences to Aunt Toni, Bob, Scott, Jeff and David and their families. Our best memory of Mike is of him doing prayers at holiday dinner in the midst of his ever growing family. He always welcomed us as his extended family and made us feel welcomed. We will miss him and his sense of humor. The Yankees lost their best fan.

Michael has been another one of my brothers since I was  a teenager... a part of every family memory for 58 years... we always teased each other and made each other laugh.  One of my favorite memories was Michael in  surgeon's garb - hat, mask, gloves and some kind of hospital gown standing over the Thanksgiving turkey ready to carve. :)  And he was the one who prayed and did the blessing before all of our holiday meals. He takes a brother's share of my heart to heaven with him. 💔

Our traveling buddy will be missed. We explored the world and laughed together.  RIP Mike. Xoxo😘 

Toni and family, although we have not been actually together much in the last few years we think of Michael and your family often and with much love. I remember when we were younger the good times that Michael and I had together.  We will miss him,  Judy and Steve Levy
