Michael was born in Newark NJ and spent most of his life in West Orange, NJ before moving to Florida. Michael served in the United States Airforce, then entered the family business in 1960. He worked in the real estate industry as a real estate broker, developer and manager. He served on the board of the MS Society Northern NJ Chapter, Newark Downtown District and the Newark YMCA. He was a member of Temple B’Nai Jeshurun in Livingston, NJ and the Mountain Ridge County Club and Boca West Country Club. Michael had a great love for the arts and photography.
He is predeceased by his wife, Carol Rachlin and his brother, Stephen Rachlin. He is survived by his loving partner of 13 years, Joni Reuben and her loving family, his dear friend and long-time business associate, Gail Alba, and his niece, Amy Rachlin and nephew, Matthew Phillips.
Funeral services will be held at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039 on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 11am. The family will be receiving guests from 10:15am to 10:45am. The burial will follow at B’Nai Jeshurun Cemetery , 1334 Carrington St, Elizabeth, NJ 07208.
