Miriam was the beloved wife of Herman Braun who predeceased her. They were married in 1949 and shared their lives of partnership and enduring love. For more than 40 years Miriam worked side by side with Herman in his law office. She worked tirelessly in many activities in the Jewish community including her job as Interim Executive Director of Temple Sharey Tefilo Israel. She cherished her many years of service to the Newark Museum .
Miriam was thoughtful and contemplative as well as flamboyant and joyful in all she did. She is survived by her only child Marcia Braun Szerlip and her husband Bill Szerlip.
The funeral service will take place at Temple Sharey Tefilo Israel on Tuesday February 3, 2026 starting at 11:00 a.m.
A private burial will follow.
