Mitchell was predeceased by his father, Stanley Katz, mother, Leatrice Gold, stepfather, Ramon Gold and brother Daniel Gold. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years Abby Rost-Katz, two daughters Shana Dryja (Corey) Stacy Katz (Jason Berwanger) and grandson Jack Berwanger, brothers Ira Gold (Hemda), Elliot Katz (Claire) and sisters Jane Nichols (Mike) and Mara Gold.
Born on December 20th,1953, he grew up in Livingston, NJ. Graduated from George Washington University and spent most of his career at Vac-U- Max in sales. After living in various towns in NJ, he came full circle and moved back to where he grew up, Livingston, NJ.
Mitchell was loyal, honest, generous and had an incredible work ethic. He loved to spend time with his family and had a special connection to animals, especially with the cat he had in his youth, Snoopy as well as the family dog, Lego.
