

Murry Greene was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 5, 1927 of Russian immigrant parents (the year Lindburg crossed the Atlantic Ocean by plane). His father, mother and brother are deceased and his sister Paula lives in New Jersey. He was schooled in the traditional New York public school system. In his senior year of High School his mother, sister and he moved to New Jersey where his brother worked in the family milk business. (Tuscan Dairy)
Murry Graduated High School in 1945 and went on to Rutgers University. With one year of college completed he enlisted in the Navy as a Pharmacist mate, after training in Bainbridge boot camp and its Hospital Corp.School he was stationed at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital for several years. During this time he visited Wyeth to pick up emergency supplies of Penicillin. Here he met Dr. Joseph Seifter the developer of Benzathine (Bicillin) Penicillin. Dr. Seifter suggested to him at that time that when he completes his enlistment and college, come to see him for potential employment.
Upon discharge from the Navy he returned to Rutgers and graduated in June of 1951. During this time Murry was working in Rubin Brothers Drug Stores. In June, while working in the drug store, Jerry Samnick a District Manager of Wyeth came into the store to introduce a new salesman. Murry at this time was in conversation with Mr. Samnick and he heard about the above listed story. He asked him to sit down at the Soda Fountain and proceeded to interview him for a job. Shortly thereafter he had a second interview with the NY Regional manager Dick Swersky and was sent for an aptitude and psychological test at the Klein Institute. Shortly there after he was informed that he had a sales job in the Newark Area if he wanted it.
Two weeks later he was sent to training for two weeks at the Drake Hotel in Philadelphia. When he returned to New Jersey he was assigned a detail territory for several months and then was assigned a sales territory in Newark New Jersey.
During this time Murry held several positions in the District and Region. He was the Liaison Rep.. In New Jersey for the Survival Technology Corp. and was responsible for the sales and training of the Cardio Beeper Remote monitoring system for Pacemakers and Patients at high risk. He was trained in FDA monitoing of drugs for seeding and trial of new agents.
Prior to these assignments Murry was promoted in 1964 to Hospital Territory Representative. During the time following this, the job title and responsibility changed considerably until present time.

Murry has subsequently retired after 50 years of continuous service.
In his private life he was a Boy Scout to the level of Eagle. Produced model Aircraft for ID purposes for the War Department. He is currently a Master Model Builder of Radio Control Aircraft which has been on display in many areas of the country. Murry is a volunteer Postal monitor and inspector on a local level. Murry has been Anointed by Cardinal McCarick for charity work in The Newark Archdiocese. Murry was Knighted by the Knights of Pythias (Sir Murry Greene), Chancellor Commander of the Knights for four terms, The Carl Berkow Award five times (Pythian of the Year), Appointed to the Grand Council of the Knights of Pythias and is now the the Past Grand Chancellor. He served on many committees in his subordinate Lodge as well as chairing several programs at the Grand Council. While on the Grand Council, Murry started the 9-11 Cellular Phone emergency program. Murry chaired many charitable drives in his home lodge and has donated substantially for its well being and to the Knights of Columbus as well. He recently was recognized by the Knights of Columbus as Citizen of the Year for 2004. In 2005, Murry was elected to the Honor Roll of the "Four Chaplains Chapel", in Philadelphia, PA. The honors will be awarded on 9/11/2005 at Temple Beth Shalom, Livingston, NJ.
Murry has been recognized by Gerson Weiss, MD, Chairman of OBGyn UMDNJ and President of the National Board of OBGyn, and the Dean of the University as well for his efforts and contribution to medicine in the State of New Jersey. Murry recently completed his second term as Post Commander of the Jewish war veterans of Livingston, New Jersey.
Murry is survived by his daughter Randi Sue Greene. Adored granddaughters Rebecca Mindi Rosenberg and Lindsay Brooke Rosenberg. He is predeceased by his loving wife of fifty plus years Harriet, and a son, Robert Ted Greene.
