Paul Edward Buren of Pompton Plains, New Jersey passed away at his home on July 10, 2020. He was the devoted husband of Florence Buren, beloved father of Mindy, Jodi & Benjamin Buren and Grandfather of Danielle Stouck, David Stouck, Rachel Stouck, Barry Buren, Jamie Buren, Jordan Buren and Cary Krongard. He was predeceased by his grandson Joshua Stouck and granddaughter Shawn Krongard. Born and raised in Newark, Paul attended Weequahic High School where he played trumpet in the band. He graduated from Syracuse University. He served in the US Airforce for 2 years during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He joined his father George Buren’s CPA firm, Buren & Buren, along with his brother, Jerry. He then went on in partnership with his brother to a variety of entrepreneurial pursuits. They included Reliable Screw Machine Products, Automatic Screw Machine Products and Generant Company Inc which is now run by his son, Benjamin. He was a member of congregation Oheb Shalom in South Orange for many years.
Paul was known for his love of family and his zest for life. He had many interests and hobbies, all of which he excelled at. He was an accomplished amateur photographer, painter, pilot and shared an airplane with his brother. He was an avid fisherman, he was a connoisseur of fine wines and had an extensive wine collection in his Livingston Home of many years, next to the photographic darkroom. He especially loved babies and dogs and could finish the NY times crossword puzzle in one sitting. A lover of fine restaurants, he frequented The Westwood and Neros where he was beloved by all the staff for his interest in their lives and his generosity. Paul loved Big Band Music, Barbara Streisand and Herb Albert and the Tiajuana Brass, cruises with family and just living life to its very fullest. His greatest love of all was his wife Flossy. He will be dearly missed.
