Paul H. Nagelberg

Paul H. Nagelberg, 86, died on May 8, 2026. Born on October 1, 1939, he was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He lived in Maplewood for over 50 years before moving to West Orange, New Jersey five years ago.

Paul began his career in the life insurance industry in 1960, dedicating more than a decade to learning the business with care and diligence. In 1971, he founded Executive Life Associates, which he led for the remainder of his life—an enduring reflection of his steadiness, professionalism, and lifelong commitment to the work he valued.

A man of deep devotion to family, Paul was the beloved husband of Adele for 64 years and the loving father of David Nagelberg (Allison), Jason Nagelberg (Amy Dixon), and Seth Nagelberg (Jennifer Adams). He was a devoted grandfather to Cory Ehrentreu (Dana), Jesse Nagelberg (Simone), Hayley Nagelberg, Ezra Nagelberg, and Lola Nagelberg, and a proud great grandfather of Lila and Emmett. He was the brother of the late Arnold Nagelberg.

Paul’s life was also marked by sustained service and leadership in the communities and institutions he cared for. He was a past president and long time member of Oheb Shalom Congregation. He served as State Senator of the Jaycee’s - Newark and then Irvington, NJ, and was past President of the National Association of Life Underwriters - NJ. He also served as former Board President of the Hebrew Free Burial Association, offering his time and guidance with a sense of responsibility and purpose.

Funeral Service will be held at Oheb Shalom Congregation, 170 Scotland Rd, South Orange Village, NJ 07079 on May 10, 2026 at 1:30 pm.

Burial will follow at Oheb Shalom Cemetery, 1321 N Broad St, Hillside, NJ 07205
