She married Irwin Sobel the love of her life on May 1, 1948. They shared a wonderful life together for 72 years. They were blessed with a loving family, sons David and Mark, daughter-in-laws Andrea and Wendy, four grandchildren Andrew, Julie, Sam and Barry, and in their later years four great grandchildren Leigha, Ellis, Parker and Dylan.
Irwin and Phyllis moved to Livingston in 1952 and remained resdients throughout the remainder of their lives.
They were enthusiastic supporters of their adoptive hometown remaining active in all town activities with active support of child related activities, township sports, cub scout activities, and local theater groups.
Phyllis’s activities were centered on her family. She was a continual source of care, love and affection for her two sons and a bedrock of support and encouragement for her indefatigable spouse. Her willingness to subordinate her own ego and ability to encourage and protect her family was her greatest strength. The loving home she provided was filled with laughter and security for those she so loved.
