Born and raised in Newark to the late Frances and Raymond DeFilippis, he lived in East Hanover and Bloomfield, before moving to Bedminster 35 years ago.
Raymond worked as a collection agent for many years with Nationwide Adjustment Corporation in Bloomfield retiring in 1996.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, Raymond was a member of the Post War Veterans Club in Raritan.
He was the loving father of Raymond DeFilippis, dear brother of Esther DeFroscia and her husband John, former husband of the late Marie Powel, and cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is being held at the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2-6 pm.
The Funeral will commence at the funeral home on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 9 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston. The burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
