Born in Harlem, NY to the late Anna and Vincenzo Tomo, Ray lived in Brooklyn before moving to Upper Montclair in 1969.
In 1958, he started Pizzatown USA Corp which is currently being run by his children Michele Ginter and Bruce Tomo.
Ray was predeceased by his beloved wife Gloria (nee Orsi) who he was married to from 1950 until her passing at the age of 58 in 1986 and a granddaughter Laura Apicella.
He is survived by his loving children Denise Apicella and her husband Guy, Raymond Tomo, Jr., Michele Ginter and her husband WIlliam, Lisa Gelo, Stephanie Borrelli and her husband Henry, and Bruce Tomo and his wife Brenda; cherished grandchildren Gina, Dana, Christina, Louis, Stephen, Amanda, Alexandra, Jennifer, Nicole, Raymond, and Christopher; and dear companion Natalie Bergamo.
The visitation is being held at the LaMonica Memorial Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue in Livingston on Friday, June 14, 2019, from 9-11 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 12 pm in St. Joseph's Church in West Orange. The entombment will take place in Mount Hebron Cemetery in Montclair.
Following the services on Friday, the family invites you to join them at Lu Nello's Restaurant at 182 Stevens Avenue, Cedar Grove, NJ.
