Bob was born in Union City, NJ to Viola and Herman Lowenstein on March 26, 1924, where he was predeceased by his siblings Ann, Myra and Philip and lived in Westfield, NJ with his wife Rhoda before relocating to Monroe Township and later moved to Green Hill in West Orange. Bob graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in Chemistry and from Steven’s Institute with a MS in Chemistry. He went on to serve as a medic in WW2 where he received multiple honorary metals.
Upon his return, he worked in his family business Ace Scientific where he eventually became President.
Upon retirement from Ace, Bob continued to work for several years at H&R Block as a tax preparer. Bob was very active in his community as he was an officer in Kiwanis, Temple Emanuel Men’s Club, B’nai Brith, Jewish Family Service, Masons, and an elite member of Mensa.
Bob had many hobbies and interests including playing bridge, reading historical novels, listening and going to the opera, going to broadway shows with his family and playing tennis.
Bob’s greatest love was his family. Bob is survived by his three loving daughters Carole, Nancy and Janet; three sons in law who he always referred to as his sons Stephen Schneider, Ron Schneier and Gary Deutschmeister; 6 grandchildren Ari and his wife Alyssa Schneider, Rachel and her husband Joe Fine, Daniel and Matt Schneier, and Brian and Amy Deutschmeister. In addition, he was a great grandfather to Ryann, Jordynn and Zeke.
