

Dr. Robert Phillip Shack, 73, of Short Hills for 40 years, died on December 24, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. A veteran of the US Army Medical Corp, Dr. Shack attended Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia, PA and completed his residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. He has been on staff at St. Barnabas Medical Center as a general and vascular surgeon for 40 years. He was also a long time member of Temple B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills, NJ and was an avid handball player and past state champion.
Dr. Shack was the beloved husband of Barbara Shack, loving father of Brett Shack (Michelle Gavin), Jodelyn Malzberg (Mitchell), Brian Shack, and Emily Garber (Stuart), devoted grandfather of Sarah and Ethan Malzberg, Elizabeth and Franklin Shack, Andrew and Daniel Garber, and Allie Shack.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Temple B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills, NJ. Interment to follow at B’nai Abraham Memorial Park, Union, NJ.
