She was born and raised in New York City. She graduated Hunter College with a Bachelors in Business and taught second grade for twenty-two years at Dutch Lane School in Hicksville, NY. She was loved by students and named Teacher of the Year several times.
Rose was predeceased by Albert Eckstein. They happily spent their retirement in both Nevada and California. She is survived by her daughter Linda Stark and son Paul Kamen. Her grandchildren are Noah Stark, Lauren and Adam Kamen. The joy of her life was her great granddaughter Ava Stark, daughter of Noah and Jessica Stark, who is now two.
Upon Albert’s passing in 2006 Rose relocated to Livingston to be close to her daughter, Linda Stark. Rose spent the next twelve years close to her family sharing life and celebrations. It was a blessing for all. She also became an active member of the JCC Senior Center in West Orange. She made many friends and spent her days socializing, playing bridge and gambling.
Funeral services were held at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus New Jersey. Memorial donations may be made in Rose’s name to the JCC Senior Center, MetroWest in West Orange NJ.
