Ruth Carter, Holocaust Survivor, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Daughters of Israel Nursing Home in West Orange. Born in Germany, Ruth survived the war there. She then came to America and lived in Newark and then Fairlawn where she and her husband John owned Ben’s Playland Toy Store. Later they moved to Cedar Grove.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband John Carter, her loving daughter Evelyn, her sisters Johanna and Henny, her brothers Paul and Arthur, and her loving companion later in life Walter Brill of West Orange.
She will be greatly missed by her nieces Ingrid Anzis, Selma Catallo, and Eleanor Dear and their families. Also the families of Walter Brill. Last but not least by her longtime companion and caretaker Marcia Rose.
