Sanford Wolfe CPA, served in the Coast Guard, of Chatham Mr. Sanford Wolfe, 90, of Chatham Township, N.J., died on Sunday in the Inglemoor Care Center. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, at 1 p.m. at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin, N.J.
Born in Newark, N.J., Mr. Wolfe lived in Union, N.J., and then Livingston, N.J., before moving to Chatham Township in 1991. A graduate of Weequahic High School and Upsala College, he played basketball for both schools. Mr. Wolfe served with U.S. Coast Guard from 1943 to 1946 and was stationed aboard the USS New Bedford. Prior to his retirement, he was a certified public accountant for the Department of Defense and the EPA, New York City, for over 30 years. He later worked as an independent consultant.
Mr. Wolfe leaves his wife of nearly 58 years, Hanna "Honey" (nee Fleischman); children, Barry Wolfe and his wife, Margie, Jeffrey Wolfe, and Lisa Wolfe, and grandchildren, Marla, Melissa, Lauren, Michael, Annie, and Jackson.
