
Sharon Cohen, 85, of Highlands, passed away peacefully on February 6th, 2025. Born on August 3rd, 1939, at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark to Morris and Gertrude Warman, Sharon grew up in the Vaux Hall area of Newark and later moved to Springfield NJ. Sharon graduated from Johnathan Dayton High School in 1957 and later became a clerk for Kemper Insurance. She would meet her husband to be, Ira Cohen, in 1959. Shortly thereafter Sharon gave birth to their first child Mitchell Brian, followed a few years later with daughter Randee Sue.
Sharon was a dedicated and profound domestic engineer, raising her two children and supporting the family business J&J Tire Town. She was masterfully organized, attentive, and had an acute attention for detail. Sharon would become very active within the Sisterhood of Temple Beth Or in Clark and continued with her involvement in Woman's League for Conservative Judaism. There she would go on to serve one term as President of her regional chapter. Sharon was a socialite. She loved to frequent NYC to enjoy both the visual and performing arts and passed that love for creativity to her children. Sharon's proudest role would be that of grandmother, to her four grandchildren Stephen Joshua, Hannah Rose, Sean Michael, and William (Billy) Howard.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband Ira, sister Barbara Messinger, brother Hal and wife Judi Warman, daughter Randee, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her mother, father, and son Mitchell.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, February 10th at 11:00am at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge Center Dr. Woodbridge Township, NJ 07095.
